Community partnerships
Heinz has developed a number of strong corporate partnerships with organisations that specialise in promoting the health, nutrition, and wellness of children and families.
Wesley Mission Melbourne
Wesley Mission Melbourne provides a range of valuable services for children and young people, people in crisis, people experiencing homelessness, older people, people with disabilities, and people with Huntingtons Disease.
They provide over fifty services in over one hundred locations across metropolitan Melbourne, including the Lifeline Melbourne telephone counselling service and the Wesley Do Care social support service for isolated, frail aged people and adults with a disability.
FareShare
FareShare provides free, healthy and nutritious meals for the homeless and hungry in Melbourne using surplus food donated by food manufacturers (like us), wholesalers, catering companies, food outlets and other organisations.
Ardoch Youth Foundation
Ardoch Youth Foundation is a not for profit organisation working nationally to make education a reality for children and young people.
SecondBite
SecondBite is a dynamic not for profit organisation who identify sources of nutritious surplus fresh food that might otherwise go to waste, and facilitate its safe and timely distribution to agencies and people in need.
Foodbank
The largest hunger relief organisation in Australia, Foodbank is a not for profit organisation that seeks and distributes food and grocery donations to welfare agencies that feed the hungry.
Fundraising
Heinz Help@Hand is a locally based program that encourages all Heinz employees to make positive contribution to their local community. Each of our sites has a Help@Hand leader who works with site employees to raise funds for a local community project. Heinz Australia then matches all funds raised dollar-for-dollar so the charity benefits even more.
Volunteering
Heinz doesn't just talk about getting involved and giving back – we've set up a company-wide volunteer program that provides each employee with up to two paid days leave per year to volunteer at a registered charity or organisation.
Product Donations
No one in Australia should go hungry, and as a leading food company, we do what we can to help, wherever we can.
Our significant and ongoing program of product donation provides food to Foodbank and other charitable organisations across Australia that help people experiencing crisis and facing hunger.
In 2009, we donated towards Bushfire Relief, Ardoch Youth Foundation, FareShare, Foodbank, SecondBite, and the Wesley Mission Melbourne.
